About Me

Who am I?

My name is Kyle Gianni, and I'm from Sleepy Hollow, New York. I'm a Film & Media major and a Political Science major. One fun fact about me is that I have a massive soft spot for animals. In the confines of my small suburban house and backyard, we were able to harbor chickens, birds, hamsters, rabbits, dogs, cats, lizards, and too many fish. Due to this, I value nature and the idea that everything will work itself out. Beyond my philosophies, I love to wrestle and hang out with friends while saving time for myself to be creative.

What are my initial feelings about the class, and what do I expect?

Although it was hard to fully immerse myself in the atmosphere of creating digital media over Zoom, I'm incredibly excited. Since a young age, I've had a passion for creating media, and I'm sure this class will push me to different kinds of media I haven't explored yet. I expect to grow as a future filmmaker and improve upon my video and photo editing skills.

  The process behind this poster:     In all honesty, this poster has gone through about thirteen metamorphoses. My initial impression after creating my Calligraphy poster is that I wanted to connect the two assignments with the theme of guilt. But nonetheless, starting out with this assignment I had an influx of ideas come to my head about what I possibly wanted to create around the theme.        From a young age I loved horror, still now I love horror. One of my favorite small horror stories was from a YouTube channel named HiImMaryMary, where a woman is stuck in a house with creatures that come out in the night. Each creature is theorized to be a part of her own mental illnesses, such being her anxiety, self-loathing, depression, and guilt.     I have always been oddly obsessed with how the creator displayed guilt.
